 The com, net and org top level domains (TLD) are considered "global" TLDs, and are currently administered in the United States by the Network Solutions, Inc. registry. They are not affiliated with any country, and are open for registration to the general public. The com, net and org domains are administered through the NSI Registry, and can be registered through a number of different registrars worldwide, including Premier Focus.
Rules
 com is to be used for commercial and personal sites.
net is for companies involved in internet infrastructures.
org is recommended for not-for-profit organizations.
Use only letters, numbers, or hyphens ("-").
Cannot begin or end with a hyphen.
Must have less than 63 characters.
Domain names with com, net or org exceeding a total of 26 characters are supported by most web browsers. However, certain web browsers, email programs and other Internet related applications may not support domain names over 26 characters.
